Gather your social media content

Ok, so whether you like social media or not... it is today's tool for being discovered and so, if you haven't already, you really should think about using it on a regular basis. Think of it as your brand's portfolio.

It's important to decide on what your brand is about and what message you want to convey to your online audience. We always recommend being real, especially when you are starting out in your home fragrance ventures. People are looking for something unique and authentic. They want something they cannot find on the high street, so show them the person behind the products and how your products are made.

Make content around the behind the scenes of your business and everything in between. Take photos, videos and utilise user generated content.

Now that you have the content ready of your spectacular wax melts, candles and everything else, it's time to get it up on instagram, facebook, TikTok and any other social media platforms you can think of.

And no, don't worry you don't have to set aside a specific time of day or descend into a panic over a post you forgot to upload, whilst you are out at dinner with the girls.

There are some fantastic tools out there to help. At Craft HQ we use Later for all of the scheduling of our posts. But there are others out there, such as SproutSocial  and HootSuite that you may prefer.

These platforms allow you to schedule as you go or ahead of time, we recommend scheduling first thing Monday morning for all of the week ahead. This will not only help free up some time but will also help you plan what comes next.
